Big Bang Theory

In helping our Amy with her Astronomy homework last night, I got to thinking about how the universe began from nothing, banged binary-like from nothing into something... and then immediately began speeding away from that central point in all directions into the void. Couldn't stop thinking about how sad and beautiful that feels...

Big Bang Theory

I long
sometimes
(don't you)
to return
to the singularity,
to that time
just after
zero
exploded into
one.

For now
we speed
(somehow)
apart and
away and
adrift and
rocketing
from
somethingness to
none.

Of course
we can't
(if only)
refute the
relentlessness
of relativity,
only
look forward and back
through time.
